A Christmas Action Comedy in the vein of HOT FUZZ, filled with a blizzard of cold-blooded Sci-Fi creatures.
Premise The story follows Shad, a naive border cop - who likes what he knows: cheeseburgers, 4-wheelers -- American stuff. He’s the kinda guy that lives for routine, and follows the rules to a T -- so when a group of Mexican teens try to cross the border, he’s ready and chases them down. They escape, but not before Shad grabs their bag full of priceless Mayan artifacts.
As a reward, his Sergeant transfers him to a small Mexican town, on a border relations assignment. The Sergeant knows someone there is behind the artifact smuggling, and he wants Shad to use the position as cover to find out who.
It’s early December when Shad arrives in the quaint, Mexican town, reminiscent of an old-world, European city, filled with beautiful Christmas decorations. Shad doesn’t speak Spanish - has no idea what’s happening with their culture and weird holiday traditions - they don’t even know what Taco Tuesday is, which makes no sense to him. His entire routine gets screwed up - so, he hates it. But, things get even worse, when he realizes this is also home to the hoodlum teens he stopped with the artifacts, at the border.
He goes to confront them, but an earthquake shakes the town and opens a giant fissure in the middle of the street. Albino scorpions, the size of German Shepherds, pour out. Everyone is running and screaming - during the chaos, Shad swears he sees the scorpions drag someone underground, before disappearing.
That’s when he learns-- this use to be an old mining town, with miles of underground tunnels. He decides to explore them - to see if someone did get taken. And, to see if that’s where the artifacts are being stashed. While exploring - he runs into... the teens. This time, he corners them. They say they never met who hired them to take the artifacts across the border - but they think it was Shad’s new boss - the Mexican Police Chief. They think the whole force is corrupt - including Shad. They’re trying to prove it by finding the artifacts.
Shad’s not buying their story - they start to argue, but stop when they hear strange chanting - coming closer. They hide in a tight passageway. The floor starts to creek - they’re not standing on rock - it’s a rotted, wooden platform -- it gives way... they drop into darkness - and splash down into waist high water. They re-light their lanterns - and they’re surrounded by beautiful artifacts - floor to ceiling.
As they argue about what to do next, something big starts moving in the shadows behind them - slides off a rock, into the water. A few seconds later, human skulls start popping up like buoys. Then, slowly - a giant, albino salamander rises up. This thing is nuts. It has piercings, tattoos, and the skulls are dangling from a collar around its neck. It attacks - shit goes crazy and they barely escape, down a rock waterslide -- into a deeper cavern, where they discover... an underground civilization of albino, Mayan, little-people, with a doomsday machine - and an overdue plan to end the World.
And that’s our midpoint.

PLAN: GRAPHIC NOVEL TO FEATURE FILM
WORKING ON THESE NOW.
Well, not really. But I want to - so, hopefully soon this area will start to fill up. I’ve got my complete the outline and this story is calling out to be made into a graphic novel - for starters.
